toronto tomorrow planet in focus film festival

hey folks – if anyone is gonna be in toronto tomorrow – i’m gonna be  part of a panel discussion at the planet in focus film festival.

it’s after a screening of a movie on detroit urban agriculture that came out this last year, and has been showing around the country.

i’m not sure how i’ve never mentioned this movie before, but i’ve been bad about keeping up on media posts.  i have a little extra time while in toronto –  i’m gonna hit some urban ag.  projects – any one have any good recommendation for that?  or other good things to do in toronto?

  1. I was in Toronto recently and was very impressed with the availability of rental bikes. Are you seeing the film Urbanized?

    • really – bikes – oh boy – i’ll pack a bike . i don’t think urbanized is going to be screening on the days that i’m there – just thursday and friday – and then taking off saturday morning. ma said she would miss me too much if i was gone too long. i’m going to consider this more of a scouting campaign for future visits.

  2. Patrick, I live in Toronto and would be happy to suggest some things that you might enjoy.
Thurs afternoon you should check out Dufferin Grove Market from 3-7
And across the street is Foodshare
Not Far From The Tree is located in the same building
I think you’d also like Foodcycles – it’s located a bit outside of downtown but accessible by subway ( and you can take your bike on the subway at off peak times).
I’d be happy to put you in touch with people if you want to set up anything before you come. You can email me at
